Board of Directors

Dr. Omobola Johnson holds a B.Sc. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from University of Manchester, an M.Sc. in Digital Electronics from Kings College, University of London as well as a Doctor of Business Administration from Cranfield University. She is the erstwhile Minister of Communications Technology, past Chairman Accenture Nigeria, Founding Chairperson of Women in Management and Business (WIMBIZ) and a fellow of the Aspen Global Leadership Network (AGLN).

She brings over thirty years of corporate experience involving the private and public sectors both locally and internationally to the Board of the Company and presently serves as non-executive director on the Boards of several Companies.

Wole is the founder and Group Managing Director of Custodian Investment Plc. He is an industry leader with over thirty-five (35) years’ experience and has at various times been a member of the Presidential Committee on Pension Reforms, Chairman of the Nigerian Insurers Association, Council Member of the West African Insurance Companies Association (Ghana), and External Lecturer – West African Insurance Institute, Banjul, The Gambia. He sits on several Boards including the International Insurance Society, New York as well as Council member of the Nigerian Insurers Association and the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council.

He has received numerous awards including nomination as “African CEO of the Year” by African Reinsurance Corporation, a three (3) time awardee of the Top 25 CEO’s Award by the influential BusinessDay Newspaper and the 2019 Harvard Business School Association of Nigeria (HBSAN) Leadership Award for General Management. A graduate of Actuarial Science and a Chartered Insurer by Profession, he holds the Doctor of Finance (Honoris Causa) and is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria, The Risk Managers Society of Nigeria and the Association of Investment Advisers and Portfolio Managers as well as a Fellow of the West African Insurance Institute, Banjul, The Gambia. He is a past President of the Lagos Business School Alumni Association (LBSAA), as well as an alumnus of the Harvard Business School.

Mr. Adeniyi Falade is a Chartered Accountant, Chartered Stockbroker and an Investment Banker. He had his professional accountancy training at PricewaterhouseCoopers, and Coopers & Lybrand Limited, Lagos. He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Warwick, United Kingdom and a Bachelor of Science degree (BSc), from the University of Ibadan.

Before his appointment as Executive Director of Custodian Investment PLC, he had served as Managing Director of Crusader Sterling Pensions Limited, Managing Director of Lead Capital and Head of Investment Banking Group of Ecobank Nigeria Plc and Lead Bank Plc. He had also at various times served as Head of Internal Control/ Chief Inspector and Head of Risk Management Department of Lead Bank Plc. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Custodian Life Assurance Limited, Custodian Trustees Limited, UPDC PLC and Interstate Securities Limited.

Mr. Richard Asabia, an Investment Banker and Stockbroker, is a 1983 graduate of the London School of Economics [University of London] and 1989 graduate of the University of Wales, Cardiff, UK. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law, a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and is a qualified Barrister, as well as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers.

Mr. Asabia has several decades of experience, including as Chief Executive Officer, Non- Executive Director and Independent Non- Executive Director on the Boards of several financial institutions, spanning Banking, Stockbroking, Pension Funds Administration, Trusteeship and Insurance. He is currently a Director on the Board of CrusaderSterling Pensions Limited and is the Chairman of Custodian Life Assurance Limited and Custodian Trustees Limited.

Mrs. Mimi Ade-Odiachi is a seasoned professional and entrepreneur with over three decades experience in Non-Bank Financial Services (Insurance), Hospitality Management and Landscape Architecture. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Insurance from the University of Lagos. She is also a chartered Insurer. She is an Executive Director at Whispering Palms Hotels & Resort. She is also the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Omar Gardens Floral Company. She is currently serving as the Chairman of Custodian Social Responsibility Foundation.

Chief Mrs. Giwa joined the Board at the inception of Custodian and Allied Insurance Plc. She is a businesswoman with experience in various sectors of the economy such as Oil and Gas, Real Estate. She sits on the Board of several other companies.

Ravi is a Partner with Aureos Nigeria Advisers Limited with over 10 years’ experience obtained in the fields of private banking, investment banking and private equity. He joined Aureos in 2001 as a consultant and was a key member of the local team that participated in the establishment of the Aureos West Africa Fund LLC (AWAF) in 2003; which included opening a new office for Aureos in Nigeria and subsequently the Aureos Africa Fund LLC (AAF) in 2008. Prior to joining Aureos Nigeria Advisers, Ravi worked for Aureos Ghana Advisers, where he was involved in 11 exits from Ghana Venture Capital Funds (GVCF) portfolio companies.

Since relocating to Nigeria, Ravi has been responsible for sourcing, structuring, monitoring and exiting investments across various sectors. He has been instrumental in the investment of over US$65 million of Aureos Funds in Nigeria. He was also responsible for the partial divestment from two of the AWAF portfolio companies in Nigeria. Ravi sits on the board of nine (9) Aureos portfolio companies. His previous experience was gained in private and investment banking with Barclays Private Bank (London) and TAIB Bank (London). Ravi holds an MBA from the University of Wales and has a B.Sc. in Economics & Accounting from the City University, London.

Mr. Kunle Ade-Ojo is the Managing Director of Toyota Nigeria Ltd. A graduate of Mechanical Engineering from University of Reading, he also holds an M.Sc in Automotive Product Engineering from Cranfield University, both in the United Kingdom. As a Global Management Associate, he worked extensively in different operational departments while at Toyota Motor Sales, USA. He returned to Nigeria as the Business and Strategic Development Manager of Toyota (Nigeria) Limited and rose through the ranks. He was the Executive Director with Toyota Nigeria Limited until his appointment as the Managing Director of the Company.

As the Managing Director, within his second year of leading the Company he saw to the establishment of Toyota Assembly Plant in Nigeria. He also supervised the assembly and test of the first Hiace bus assembled in the plant. He has attended various Executive Management Programmes both at the Lagos Business School and the Wits Business School, South Africa. He is a member of Council, Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry and also a member of the Institute of Directors of Nigeria.

He is an astute business man who is quick to recognise business opportunities.

It is our ultimate aim to operate in a paper-less environment and so, our members are constantly encouraged to communicate via electronic systems to paper use to the barest minimum; earning us a number of notable mentions in various national and international award circles to the pleasure of customers and shareholders.

Our suppliers are selected in a manner that ensures they are not firms involved or engaging in practices promoting child labour, environmental damage. Perhaps the boldest testament to this is Custodian and Allied Plc’s emergence as the first Nigerian direct underwriter to become a member of the United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEPFI) and a signatory to its Principles for Sustainable Insurance Initiative launched at the Rio+20 UN Summit on Sustainable Development in June 2012.
